Microwaves have always been there for you when you needed them.  When you were kid heating up pizza roll or in college heating up frozen dinner, you can alway count on your microwave because it was convenient.  Then you started learning about eating health and found out that microwave can strip away the good nutrients from vegetables and any other type of food.

There is no way to deny just how convenient the microwave is for people who are living very hectic lives and they need to be able to make sure that they can save as much time as possible each day in order to get as much work done as possible. This is a convenience that some people believe could come at a very high price or long term health and that is the reason why we are going to be focusing on the most essential information in regards to microwave use.

The process in which a microwave heats food is by turning energy into heat by stimulating food molecules. The way this works can be compared to the heat that comes from the friction of two objects. The microwaves will have a better effect with water molecule, but they can eat oils and fats too, just not as intensely as water.

The production of electromagnetic radiation is something that people fear because of how they usually relate the work radiation to nuclear related deaths. The truth is that the radiation produced by your microwave is nothing like the one that can cause serious heath issues for you. The radiation in microwaves is similar to the one found in cellphones, but in a higher level of intensity.

All microwave ovens come with a metal shield that is mean to prevent the radiation from coming out of the appliance. You will actually get much more exposure to radiation from daily use of your smartphone than you ever would from using the microwave. If you want to take extra precautions, you need to consider keeping a safe distance from the microwave and not touching it while it heats up the food.

One of the biggest issues that people always talk about with microwave heating is that it will basically trip the food of a lot of the nutrients that are meant to be ingested. The truth is that studies have proven that microwaves do not lower the nutritional value of food any more than other cooking methods depending on the intensity of the heat and the amount of time the food is heated.

It has been proven that microwaving food will reduce certain compounds from being formed. These compounds can be quite harmful to people and other cooking methods can form them in higher quantities. This is another thing that disproves the idea that microwave cooking is more harmful than any other method available.

There are some dangers to microwave cooking that are quite bad for your health though. One of the most common is the use of plastic containers to cook the food. Always make sure that you use microwave safe containers if you are going to be using any. There are many harmful chemicals that can be quite bad for your health depending on the kind of plastic that you use.

Another issue with microwaves it that it can be harder to kill harmful bacteria in certain foods because of how quickly microwaves heat the food and in some cases unevenly, which is a perfect opportunity for bacteria to survive the heating process and enter out digestive system.

Conclusion

The truth is that after enough conducted studies, we can all agree that the microwave is one of the safest ways for anyone to get their food heated. You should never use a microwave if you want your food to be cooked properly and retain  the good nutrients from from, it should only be used for heating for frozen food and de-thawing purposes.
