Vemma bode, one of the hottest new MLM’s, produces a variety of products from energy to weight loss. Their main meal replacement shake Bode, ranks high on our list because of its core proteins, whey, pea, and rice. Additionally they do a good job of replacing all artificial ingredients with only natural ones.
However, just because Bode uses natural ingredients does not mean that they use the best and highest quality natural ingredients. We found evaporated cane juice in the list of ingredients that this product contains. Evaporated cane juice is basically a fancy way for saying sugar*. Additionally, at 7 grams of sugar per serving, that’s much higher than we would like to see in a meal replacement shake. This shake also has rice syrup solids in it, which has been known to contain arsenic. Arsenic is a potent carcinogen that is harmful to children and their brain development.
Vemma’s blend is fortified with a good amount of vitamins and minerals and is high in fiber. The taste quality is also good overall, but the sodium level is quite high at 180mg.
Vemma’s core proteins whey, pea, and rice are proven and effective. However some of the surrounding ingredients mentioned above are a bit suspect. In general this shake has a solid foundation and uses mostly safe ingredients. The price is a bit high, which may turn some people off to this option. This, combined with the high sodium level and presence of both rice syrup solids and evaporated cane juice is the reason that we cannot rank it higher. However, it is a better option than many other shakes on the market today.
