Isagenix Isalean is being pushed by a multi-level marketing company, and as a rule of thumb, this kind of product is more expensive. This higher price doesn’t necessarily guarantee a better product, but that said, some MLM product are actually quite good. Our editors found that at first glance, Isagenix is one worth noting.
The vanilla protein blend based not on soy, but it instead uses a hormone-free whey concentrate that comes from New Zealand. Controversial Ingredients
Fructose is one of the sweeteners mentioned on the ingredients label, and this product has generated considerable controversy as of late. We are put off by this, and all the more so because is very high on the Isagenix label (first ingredient after its proteins).
What is fructose? Essentially it’s a monosaccharide, or simple sugar, that the body can use for energy. Even though it does not cause blood sugar to spike like some other sugars, the past “darling” sweetener of the American Diabetes Association and certain nutritional experts has strongly fallen out of favor. Why?
Science has come to understand that fructose gets sent to the liver, and the liver can’t process it fast enough for the body to use as fuel. Instead, it turns it into fats and sends it off into the bloodstream as triglycerides. The possibility of weight gain is very real.
Conclusion
With a good organic protein blend that is not based on soy, Isageanix Isalean is a good option, but may not be the best if you are an ingredient junkie. The high sugar and sodium as well as its whopping 240 calories make it much less attractive. Furthermore, with a higher price point and with fructose so high on the label, we believe it is not among the best meal replacement solutions available today.

If you are an associate with Isagenix the shake canister is only $39.00 not $50.00 on amazon. It is a meal replacement so 240 calories is pretty low for a meal. It has a low glycemic index and is gluten free, soy free and the company strives for the best ingredients. This review was in 2014 and needs to be updated. Especially discussing the price per shake. I love the shakes and the support from Isagenix that I get. It changed my life. Thank you

I have been using ISAGENIX for almost 11 months now. I love the product. People fail to realize that the isagenix shakes and bars are COMPLETE meal replacements, not just a protein replacement. Isagenix gives you all the nutritional vitamins and enzymes your body needs to function properly. People think cheaper is better. Cost is not everything. I used the 30 day packs for two Yeats, lost 40lbs. I got off my diabetic medication, had I lost 10lbs more I would have been off my blood pressure pill (I had cut down from two to just one very low dosage), gone was my Cholesterol pill, I know there is one other pill I got rid of, just forgot which one right now. All this was done with my doctor’s approval. Oh yes, now I remember…I got rid of all the toxins in my body and thereby also the inflammation that toxins cause, resulting in my Ulcerative Colitis not even being a concern to my doctor anymore. I’ve used this product since 2007. Cons:$ pricey, High in sugar, carbs, sodium and the protein is a “blend”.; Now I prefer protein “isolate”, low sugar, low sodium. I discovered these issues when I could not sustain the weight loss on this product. Pros: has all of the amino acids, enzymes, vitamins. Shakeology , Ultimate Meal, have just as much appetite suppressant ability, and meets all other nutritional requirements with out the MLM, in my opinion.

i have been on Isagenix for 9 weeks. i have lost 26.4 lbs and 35.55 inches. My fiance has lost 15 lbs and 29.55 inches. Our 10 year old daughter is on it, and she has lost 11.5 lbs and 33.75 inches!! You can not sit here and tell me this doesnt work! We have just put my 13 year old son on it for the nutritional benefits of the system. He does not need to lose weight but is very active in sports. Isagenix helps build lean muscle so this will be a great help to him as well. We all love the shakes and bars, pretty much everything! my fiance also was able to stop his cholesterol and high blood pressure meds! If you’re paying retail prices you’re paying too much. Isagenix is a Direct Marketing company and should not be sold on Amazon or Ebay. If you’re buying it there you’re being ripped off.
I’m an Isagenix consultant an you can get these products for wholesale prices from one of us. The IsaLean shakes are the companies flagship product but there are many other products that the company offers.
On a side note, while you’re all looking at the ingredients and evaluating just them, you have to take the program as a whole, Isagenix is a Nutritional Cleanse. You’re losing weight and gaining more energy because you’re body is being purged of the toxins that have built up over the years. All of your other “protein shakes” won’t do that.

I’ve used Isagenix for 3 years. Best taste, loaded with nutrients that you can’t get from food, and totally worth the price (even though, as one reviewer pointed out, the price is less than $3.80 each). According to my math, at $39.95 (14 servings per canister) = $2.85 per shake.

I use Isagenix, have used many other shake products. I like it. Chose it because of the whole program, not just the shakes. However, a point on Soy Lecithin, it’s an emulsifier primarily and not the soy based product that makes up so many of the shakes out there that aren’t good for you. It’s a relatively harmless ingredient unless you are sensitive to it.

Thanks for asking, Bill. For one thing, Herbalife uses soy for its protein source, which has become controversial. Isagenix uses whey and milk proteins in their shakes. Both contain fructose, which we don’t like. Isagenix is also fairly high in calories where Herbalife is not. Both shakes have their pros and cons. It depends on whether or not you think the benefits outweigh the less desirable qualities.

HI James, thanks for voicing your concern. To clarify, soy lecithin is derived from the soy plant. Lecithin is lipid material that includes (but isn’t limited to) fats and waxes. Soy lecithin does not contain soy oil or soy protein, but do not be mistaken, it is a product of soy. Anyone who has concerns about the ingredients in any of these shakes should consult their physician.

I started this product on November 25, 2015. I have been on blood pressure medication for three years. For those three years, my blood pressure was under control with the prescribed meds. I always checked my blood pressure daily at home. When I started Isogenix, I noticed that my blood pressure had gone way up. I attributed this the stress of the Holiday season. But it worried me so I contacted my doctor. She prescribed an additional medication. After I started the additional med (in addition to my prior prescribed BP med), my blood pressure went down some but still higher than my normal. I decided over Christmas and New Year I would quit taking Isogenix and start back up after the first of the year. After I quit taking Isogenix my blood pressure went really low. Lower than normal. I can only attribute this to taking both meds and not using Isogenix. I started Isogenix back up yesterday 1/4/16 and checked my blood pressure 5 hours in to taking the product and my blood pressure had skyrocketed again. Keep in mind I was still taking the two prescribed blood pressure meds. This was too much of a coincidence to ignore. So I quit taking the remaining day of Isogenix products. By morning my blood pressure was back to normal. This is not safe! IF YOU HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!! You will be setting yourself up for a stroke or heart attack.
It says that a Whey complex is used as an appetite suppressant?? That makes no sense, I work at a supp shop. Whey is absorbed within an hour which gives you an hour of hunger suppression. Throw some casein in there and then maybe you’ll have a decent product. Or even egg whites. Wouldn’t doubt that it’s amino spiked as well.
I have been using isagenix for 2 yrs and have lost 45 lbs and over 80 inches. This system works. The fructose is from sugar beets and pears, nothing artificial. Shakes taste like a Wendy’s frosty. Yum. Just limit the sugar in the foods you eat. Common sense. It’s a lifestyle, not a diet. It’s worth trying with the 30 day money back guarantee. Nothing to lose except pounds and inches.

I must interject and just ask you how could you possibly refer to a lab made meal replacement as healthy? Are you guys serious? Please watch Fat Sick and Nearly Dead part 2 for some health information and alternative to this Chemistry! I am not trying to be rude I just feel bad for all poor misinformed people that poison their bodies on daily bases.
Your concern is definitely noted! However, as far as alternatives to naturally grown food goes, many meal replacement shakes are a great option. Generally speaking, many shakes contain a majority, if not all, of your RDA of vitamins and minerals. They also contain other vital nutrients to the body, such as protein and fiber.
