Summary: Our staff loved the creativity in this vegan, soy-free blend. Healthy pea, cranberry and rice proteins form the foundation of this product and provide a whopping 20 grams per serving. A solid mix of added nutrients including alfalfa, kelp, and ginseng make this a healthy vegan offering.
Even though we have many vegan advocates on staff who are impressed with the blend, we are not impressed with the second ingredient listed after the protein blend — sugar cane.
Con: Refined sugar cane is known to promote a spike in blood sugar that can be a problem for both dieters and diabetics. This sugar spike can lead over time to insulin resistance and eventual weight gain. In a diet meal replacement shake, we believe there is no place for this sweetener.
Despite this obvious issue, Arbonne is still one of our higher rated shakes.

Healthy weight loss is approx. 1-2 pounds per week. Check with your physician before beginning a supplement program.
My wife talked me into trying this diet. I started this Jan 4th, 2016. I am overweight and have type 2 diabeties. So far to (Jan 15th, 2016) I have lost 5 lbs (from 215 lbs to 210 lbs) having this shake in the morning with fiber boost, stawberries, and a apple mixed with almond milk, and water. I put a couple of ice cubes to make it colder and it is really good!
The side effect is the fact that my blood sugar has lowered! Now I want to continue this diet for my health!
It’s great that you’ve found a shake that works for you, Ally. It seems like more meal replacement shakes are slowly switching to plant-based proteins, which are just as effective as animal-based.
This is a great tasting shake (both vanilla and chocolate!!!! Keeps me full to the next shake then to a healthy meal suggested!!!! Easy to lose weight on while feeling wonderful also!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback, Linda! We’re glad to hear that you enjoy Arbonne’s Diet Shake!
This was the most foul smelling and tasting stuff. I tried everything in the world, adding soy milk, frozen fruit, nothing covered up the taste or smell. I returned it to my distributor – she even admitted it was awful. There are so many options out there, I wouldn’t put this one on your list to try.
You should try advocare! The vanilla shakes tastes like cake batter! So yummy if interested check out http://www.advocare.com/15069564 you wont be disappointed.
Advocare is full of artificial sweeteners, not a good alternative at all! I really like the taste of the Arbonne shakes, have been enjoying one shake a day for the last week & I’m already down 4lbs. It has helped me get over some sugar cravings as well!
Yikes, sorry that you had such a negative experience with this shake Darla!
I’m actually shocked that the taste is rated so low! I love the way this protein powder tastes. It tastes like vanilla cake batter! I have tried many other protein powders and I have had the best results with Arbonne’s. I’m not a vegan, but I prefer vegan protein because studies show that you absorb more of vegan protein than whey.
